Compassion without judgment
Families deserve information that feels welcoming—not overwhelming, clinical, or critical.
Path & PetalHELPING FAMILIES FIND THEIR WAY FORWARDTHE STORY BEHIND PATH & PETAL
From years of working alongside children and families to creating practical resources that help parents feel less alone—this is how Path & Petal grew.
A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
I began working with children at 17, when I volunteered with a social skills group. What started as an opportunity to help became work I cared deeply about—and eventually a full-time path in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Over the years, I supported children in homes, schools, daycares, camps, centers, and community settings, including synagogues. Every setting and every child taught me something different: progress is personal, communication takes many forms, and no two families need exactly the same kind of support.
Through seven years of ABA experience, I saw how much families do behind the scenes—learning new terms, navigating evaluations, building routines, coordinating services, and trying to understand what comes next. I also saw how overwhelming it could feel to receive information without a clear path forward.
FROM EXPERIENCE TO PURPOSE
My background expanded beyond ABA. I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a focus on child psychology and mental health, and I spent a year working in child welfare. Those experiences deepened my understanding of how family life, emotional well-being, access to services, and everyday challenges all shape a child’s journey.
One message kept coming back to me: parents deserve explanations they can actually use. Not just a list of acronyms. Not just another appointment. And definitely not the feeling that they should already know everything.
WHY I CREATED PATH & PETAL
I created Path & Petal as a fully digital space where parents and caregivers of neurodivergent children can find approachable, research-informed education and practical tools—whether they are noticing developmental differences for the first time, preparing for an evaluation, making sense of new information, or finding ways to support their child day to day.
Here, families can explore guides, workbooks, printables, videos, and reflections designed to make the next step clearer. Our resources focus on communication, regulation, routines, advocacy, learning, and connection—without assuming every child should follow the same path.
Path & Petal is built on a simple belief: curiosity before conclusions, connection before pressure, and progress at a pace that fits your family.
Families deserve information that feels welcoming—not overwhelming, clinical, or critical.
Clear tools and explanations that connect to everyday home, school, and community life.
We recognize different ways of communicating, learning, regulating, and growing.
You do not need all the answers today. You deserve a place to ask your questions, learn at your own pace, and discover your next step.
